On Saturday, April 26, 2025, Keelung Senior High School held its grand 98th anniversary celebration. The campus was adorned with colorful banners as students, alumni, and honored guests gathered to commemorate this important milestone in the school's rich history. Among the many highlights of the day, one of the most significant was the presentation of a Silver Medal Award from the Ministry of Education to Taiwan K.K. Corporation, in recognition of its longstanding contributions to education.
This prestigious award, issued under the Ministry of Education's regulations for rewarding contributions to education, honors individuals or organizations that have shown exceptional commitment to supporting educational causes. This year, the award was presented to Taiwan K.K. Corporation, a company that has consistently supported Keelung Senior High School for many years. Representing the company, Anderson Tsai, President of Taiwan K.K. Corporation, attended the celebration and accepted the Silver Medal Award on behalf of his late father, Mr. Teng-Long Tsai.
Mr. Teng-Long Tsai, a distinguished alumnus of Keelung Senior High School (Junior High Class of 52, Senior High Class of 55), remained deeply connected to his alma mater throughout his life. He generously established a scholarship fund to support outstanding students and also donated over 2,000 books to the school's library, helping to foster a strong reading culture on campus. His lasting contributions were highly respected by faculty and students alike, and he remains a model alumnus remembered with great admiration.
The Ministry of Education officially approved the Silver Medal Award on March 25, 2025, with the certificate personally signed by Minister Ying-Yao Cheng. The award was publicly presented during the anniversary celebration, making it a touching and memorable moment for the school community.
Keelung Senior High School expressed heartfelt gratitude for the Tsai family’s unwavering support. School officials acknowledged that the development of education relies on long-term commitment from alumni and the wider community. The Tsai family’s consistent generosity has impacted the lives of many students and provided crucial support for the school's growth and educational programs.
This year’s celebration not only honored the school’s proud history but also exemplified the enduring bonds between alumni and their alma mater. The legacy of Mr. Teng-Long Tsai, now carried on by his son Anderson Tsai, serves as an inspiring example of how alumni can meaningfully give back to their school and help shape the next generation of learners.
